A person looking to become a pharmacy technician must have important qualities such as excellent physical conditioning and dexterity, being able to work under tremendous pressure, sound judgement, top-notch communication and customer-relation skills, as well as precision and accuracy. For the most part, an aspiring pharmacy technician can receive on-the-job training in order to be qualified for employment, although those who undergo formal school training and receive certification/licensing can significantly increase their employment opportunities. Drugstores and pharmacy chains are the usual workplace for a pharmacy technician, but they also have plenty of employment opportunities in hospitals and clinics, government offices, as well as pharmaceutical firms.
